Some people can’t get to CPF meetings

A reader explains why some residents are unable to attend CPF meetings.

EDITOR – I respond to ‘Glenwood resident’ (Shame on Glenwood locals).

Firstly, not all of us have transport and secondly, some live alone. Put the two together and you get the reason why a lot of us don’t go to such meetings. There is also fear of break-ins, and no-one to see us to the door when we get back, or, better still, to come inside and check that all is well. And, waiting for a lift in the dark, alone, need I say more?

You want us to go to those meetings at night, you give us that service! If not, then accept that we will be at home on those evenings. Others can go, but we won’t.

Some people simply don’t care. They whinge and whine, but are not prepared to do anything, not even to help themselves.
