Stadium cleaned for Transplant Games

EDITOR – I respond to the article in last week’s Berea Mail about the stadium not being ready for the World Transplant Games.

My team worked very hard last week in cleaning the stadium and we requested an independent company to sanitise the change rooms and toilets.

Yes, we do have a problem with pigeons that keep coming back and unfortunately there is a nest above the VIP area which has had to be pressure cleaned on a daily basis.

The seating area is concrete, and has been pressure cleaned. A budget was allocated for the upgrade of the track but it could not take place because accepting the preferred quote would have been in contravention of the Municipal Finance Management Act.
