Be vigilant while shopping
Bulwer Safety Forum has warned shoppers to be aware of pickpockets working in the area.
THE Bulwer Safety Forum is warning shoppers in and around the Berea, Glenwood and Umbilo to be particularly vagiliant while shopping.
Two black females have been targeting shoppers in these areas by stealing from shoppers’ handbags or pockets. They have become extremely brazen and in some cases have cut the straps of handbags strung over women’s shoulders.
These thieves are quick and professional and blend in with other shoppers. There modus operandi is to either bump into their target while an accomplice grabs your purse or cellphone, or stand behind you in the queue or while your’re looking at something.
Be cautious and alert when shopping or at the bank, watch your bags, cellphones, pockets and parcels very carefully. Don’t ever leave you handbag in a trolley or unattended at any time, a split second is all that is needed for your bag to be snatched.
