Maris Stella star shines at World Champs

Amy Aaron impressed at the World Aquatics Women’s U18 Championships in Spain, finishing as South Africa’s second-highest goalscorer.

MARIS Stella water polo player Amy Aaron made her mark on the international stage after representing SA at the World Aquatics Women’s U18 Water Polo Championships in Tenerife, Spain.

The tournament concluded this week, with Australia crowned champions, while SA finished 18th overall. Aaron impressed by finishing as South Africa’s second-highest goalscorer.

Her performance highlights the young water polo player’s growing talent and ability to compete against older players at an international level.

She was one of 14 players selected to represent SA and the only player from KZN at the World Championships.

“We are oh-so-incredibly proud of Amy Aaron, for being selected for the South African U18 Women’s Water Polo Team. This is such an incredibly outstanding achievement that reflects her passion for the sport,” said the school management.
