Cops nab robbers
Police arrested two men after they had broken into a vehicle in Morningside.

TWO robbers got more than they bargained for when Berea police members chased them after they had broken into a car in Morningside on Thursday, 29 August.
According to Berea SAPS Communications Officer, Lieutenant PN Naidoo, Warrant Officer Girithani and Ntshangase were patrolling Cowey Road when they heard a comotion towards Avondale Road and the Greyville racecourse.
“They drove in that direction and found a man chasing after two men heading from Avondale towards Sydenham. The officers gave chase in their patrol van and caught the two suspects,” he said.
Police were then informed by the man chasing them that the two had broken into a vehicle of a staff member that was parked outside the business on Cowey Road.
“The suspects were arrested and police went to where the vehicle was parked on Cowey Road. The vehicle’s rear window was smashed,” Naidoo said.
Police are issuing a warning to the community to be vigilant and never leave any items visible in your parked car.
The two men were charged with theft out of a motor vehicle and will be detained at Berea police until their court appearance.
