Snap an artist
Artists are invited to submit their photographs to the KZNSA to be included in an exhibition.
THE KZNSA invites all artists to participate in an exciting group exhibition titled: Reference – The Artists Photo.
The Ernest Cole Award is a prestigious event profiling the work of 2012 winner Ilan Godfrey. Reference will run concurrently on the Mezzanine and Park Gallery showcasing a variety of artists’ photographs.
The photograph is an important tool in contemporary art practice. We live in a world of technology whereby the photographic medium is a convenient tool for artists to record their environment to make art. The aim of the exhibition is to allow the viewer to peek behind the scenes of the artist’s process. To capture a work in progress or to reference the recording and mapping of an idea, before the production process.
Submission dates are on 20, 21 and 22 September. Photographs need to be printed to A4 size and must be unmounted, unframed and signed on the front.
The entry fee and retail price is R50 with all proceeds from sales going back to KZNSA to cover the exhibition expenses.
