Lions Clubs make wishes come true
Zone 7 Lions Clubs pull together to help the KZN Blind and Deaf Society.
THE Lions International President theme for 2013/2014 is “Follow that Dream”, and that is exactly what local Lions Clubs are striving to do.
Ken Toward, zone chairman of the Lions Club was approached to assist with a zone project, supplying the KZN Blind and Deaf Society with things that were in great need.
The Lions Clubs in District 410c also known as zone 7 were invited to an information morning at the KZN Blind and Deaf Society in Ismail C Meer Street (formerly Lorne Street) where the five clubs were given a wish list from the Society. The five Lions Clubs were; Durban Central, Durban Host, Durban South, Amanzimtoti and Kingsburugh. Each Lions club representative took this wish list back to their respective clubs to decide which items met up with each charity account.
The five Lions Clubs recently made the KZN Blind and Deaf Society’s wish a reality by donating brail machines, brail paper, fold up and rigid canes and special thermometers used to measure the heat of water.
