Careline crisis centre gives drug talk at DHS

Careline Crisis and Trauma Centre volunteers and recovering addicts visited DHS to give a talk to pupils about the dangers of drug, alcohol and prescription abuse.

JOEY du Plessis, founder of Careline Crisis Centre together with three recovering addicts, visited DHS on Tuesday to speak to the boys about the dangers of drug, alcohol and prescription abuse. The recovering addict volunteers interacted with the boys, telling personal stories of how easy it was to slip into becoming addicts and how difficult their lives were. “I lost all my self control, and self respect said one of the recovering addicts who became addict after her third child was born,” said one of the volunteers.

The Berea SAPS also attended to give the boys a talk on bullying and crime.
