A WOMAN was mugged by a homeless person at the intersection of Montpielier Road and Sixth Avenue last week.
The woman said: “He came from behind me and placed a knife in my back. I turned around and he took my phone from my front pocket and walked away, putting his large knife away in his pocket.”
The woman was able to follow him and eventually saw Enforce Security and screamed for them to catch the thief.
“He started running and Enforce Security had to chase him on foot. I was running behind them all and there was a large number of people running after him. I lost track of them near Mr Price Home by Umgeni Road. Thanks to the man who assisted me and bought airtime for me to call my phone. When I got home I called and by luck they had caught the thief and retrieved my phone and the knife he used to mug me,” she said.
She thanked Lucky from Enforce and his partner and security from Embury College, Lucas and Mthethwa, and others who assisted her.
