Safety is a priority
Bulwer Community Safety Forum encourages residents to be aware of safety tips.

SAFETY was the focus at a recent Bulwer Community Safety Forum meeting, where those in attendance were advised to pay particular attention to safety issues in and around their homes.
Chairperson, Heather Rorick, urged residents to ensure lighting at their properties was a priority.
“Your safety is more important than worrying about saving electricity. Ensure you house is well lit so patrollers and the police can see into your property,” she said.
Heather also said house numbering was important, and encouraged people to make sure their home numbers were big, or painted in luminous paint, so it was visible to police or emergency services.
“Keep your gates and home security gates locked. Your safety is a priority,” said Heather.
She also urged residents to keep bushes on their properties cut back to improve visibility.
Other issues included ensuring electric gates were closed totally before driving away from the property. Heather said criminals were known to push paper into gates to prevent them from closing properly.
“Another way they use to counteract your electric gate is to stick a fridge magnet on top of the gate magnet. Be aware of this,” she said.
