Raise funds while getting fit

Take part in this year's Taibo / Zumbathon and help raise funds for the Sunflower Fund.

GATHER the troops for a fun-filled morning where you can exercise both your body and soul, at The Sunflower Fund’s second Taibo / Zumbathon on Saturday, 26 July at Gelofte Skool, Caversham Road in Pinetown, from 10am to 1pm.

Apart from the music and enjoyment, there will be lucky draw prizes and an awesome raffle on offer, as well as the sale of food and cool drinks from the school tuck-shop.

The entry fee is R50 per person and people of all ages and fitness levels are welcome. You can also purchase a Sunflower Bandana for R25 on the day and get a free raffle entry. Organisers are challenging all local Zumba groups, as well as dance and fitness enthusiasts, to support this drive and better the attendance and success of the previous event which saw 111 people show up in support.

The much-needed awareness and funds raised will go towards building The South African Bone Marrow Registry (SABMR) to give hope to patients suffering from leukaemia and other life-threatening blood disorders who are searching for their 1 in 100 000 bone marrow stem cell match. It only takes two test tubes of blood to join the Registry and if you are ever a match, the process of donating bone marrow is similar to blood or platelet donation – there is no surgery involved.

For more information or bookings for the Taibo / Zumbathon in aid of The Sunflower Fund, contact Candice on 083 689 0799 or Allison 079 881 3056.

Tickets will also be available at the door.
