Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla failed in her bid to have her incitement case at the Durban High Court withdrawn on Friday (November 6).
Zuma-Sambudla is facing one count of incitement to commit terrorism and two counts of incitement to commit public violence related to the July 2021 unrest, allegedly through her social media platform.

Spokesperson for the KZN National Prosecuting Authority, Natasha Ramkisson-Kara, said the State is pleased with the outcome.
“The matter was remanded for May 2027, for arguments from the State and the Defence. The defence has closed its case, and the State maintains that the charges are valid,” Ramkisson-Kara said.
After Judge Mbuzeni Mathenjwa delivered his verdict, Zuma-Sambudla spoke to the media briefly and shared her reaction to the outcome.
“We are not surprised, but I guess we’ll take it from here. This does not change anything, I am innocent,” she said.

She added that she believes she is being targeted by the system because of her father being a “great man”.
The case was heard in the presence of Zuma-Sambudla’s father, former president Jacob Zuma, MKP supporters, and politicians.
Her lawyer, Advocate Dali Mpofu SC, and prosecutor Alex Moolman, agreed to convene the case for May 17, 2027, to commence the arguments, which Mathenjwa confirmed.
