LUCA Robinson is an all-round sports star.
Luca is in Grade 2 at DPHS and is very actively involved in all sports activities, such as hockey, rugby, cricket, swimming and athletics and is also a keen participant in the privately run but school offered Garvz Sports Academy and tennis programmes, both of which he enjoys.
Despite only being eight years old, Luca is an all-rounder and to date he has made great achievement in various fields. From the tender age of 2,5 years he started ballet lessons with Trish McIntosh and has just completed his 4th ballet exam grading, where he achieved a meritorious pass and has been selected to attend the Grande Ballet Gala evening at the Playhouse, to be showcased later this year. Luca has also performed in a few ballet shows at the Sneddon Theatre and he will once again perform there in November. As a follow up to his ballet, Luca has been dancing hip hop for the past two years and has performed at various shows and recitals.
On the soccer field, Luca plays for Stella Football club and this year he is in the U9A team.
He has also been very involved in gymnastics at the Thekwini Gymnastics Club, since the age of four and last year he successfully completed the Gymnastics Level 1, where he participated in numerous local gymnastics competitions.
Luca is also very involved in Kung Fu and last month he did his Orange belt grading exam and attained his 3rd of five stripes, preceding Adult grading level.
On the music front, Luca plays both the recorder and drums and has performed at both school and social level, at various concerts and recitals.
Finally, having a Portuguese heritage, Luca is fluent in both English and Portuguese and attends weekly Portuguese school lessons where he is currently learning how to read and write in his mother's home language.
