Climbers selected for KZN

DHS boys excelled in the KZN Climbing League finals and four were selected to represent the province in the Nationals in Cape Town next month.

Durban High School’s climbing team recently participated and excelled in the KZN climbing league finals held at UKZN Indoor Sports Centre.

The dedicated team from DHS had been practising extremely hard for these finals with four boys, Ashvir Debba (U15), Lindani Msomi (U19), Donovan Hulett (U19) and Jordan Pillai (U19), being selected to represent KZN at the nationals to be held in Cape Town in October.

Results:

Boys U15 saw Ashvir Debba placed second and he was awarded a silver medal, Jaryd Kritzinger was placed sixth, Dylan Purchase was placed seventh, Rowan Pakkiri was placed eighth and Minenhle Ntombela was placed ninth.

Boys U17: Caylin Moodley was placed tenth.

Boys U19: DHS took the top three places with Jordan Pillai taking first place and awarded a gold medal as well as the trophy for the Top Youth Male Climber in KZN, Donovan Hulett placed second and awarded a silver medal and Lindani Msomi placing third and awarded a bronze medal with Sheldon De Silva being placed eighth.
