Bandana walk raises funds
Around 2000 people flocked to Suncoast Casino on Sunday 14 September to take part in this year's 5km fun run/walk for charity, in support of the Sunflower Fund.
THE eighth annual Pick n Pay Hyper 5km Fun Run/Walk for Charity in support of The Sunflower Fund took place on Sunday, 14 September.
A total of 2000 participants donned the latest Sunflower Bandana in support of The Sunflower Fund and loved ones who had lost their battle to leukaemia. The atmosphere was festive with the Durban Prep gum boot dancers, the Dance
Direction dancers and Northlands Girls' High School singers and dancers entertaining the crowd.
A total of R68 210 was raised which will allow The Fund to include new bone marrow stem cell donors on the South African Bone Marrow Registry. You can help by wearing your Sunflower Bandana on National Bandana Day, Sunday
12 October and show solidarity for leukaemia patients who have lost their hair from chemotherapy while awaiting a bone marrow stem cell transplant. Sunflower Bandanas can be purchased from any Pick n Pay for only R25
