Back to school rush
Parents flock to Gem Schoolwear in Overport for last minute school uniform shopping.
AS 'back to school' fever sweeps across the country, Durban parents could be seen shopping up a storm this week as they purchased school uniforms in preparation of the first term of 2015 which starts next week.
Gem Schoolwear in Overport once again proved to be a popular one-stop shop for most parents who needed to kit out children with school uniforms.
Manager, Muhammed Patel, said Gem was proud that all garments sold at the shop were made in South Africa, and that the outlet was a proudly South African company.
“We've been busy as always, it's been a fair back to school season. We thought with one week extra holidays, we could expect to see the number of shoppers evening out by now, as there has been stock since November, but people seem to have left the shopping until the last minute. We expect the craziness from this Friday until next week,” he said.
