Attend Seeds of Unity seminar

The community is encouraged to attend the third Seeds of Unity Interfaith Seminar.

THE eThekwini Municipality, in association with Food For Life Children’s Projects, will be hosting the third Seeds of Unity Interfaith Seminar at the Durban Botanic Gardens Conference Centre on Friday, 6 February with registration at 8.30am.

Reverence for nature is a common thread in all of the world’s major religious followings. Nature has always been viewed as divine, and a manifestation of the Absolute, with great healing powers.

The seminar will be held to develop appreciation and understanding of the culturally diverse perspectives on this universal concept of 'The Healing Powers of Nature', with the objective to stimulate dialogue between inter-religious groups and to share ideas with a view of developing a mood of gratitude towards nature and an appreciation for each others' diverse cultures.

Practical ideas presented at the seminar can also be implemented in various environmental educational activities relating to children.

Nine different religious followings will be represented at the seminar, including Sukyo Mahikari, Bahai and African Traditional Religion, Rastafarian and others.

The event is supported by the eThekwini Municipality, as it is in keeping with city’s integrated development plan of social cohesion and inter-religious unity.
