Learn to write a memoir

A writing workshop in Kloof will give you the basics to be able to put together your own memoirs.

IF you have always wanted to write your story or the story of your family history, but didn't know where to start, this workshop is for you.

Learn how to write those memoirs at a practical workshop with Elana Bregin on Tuesday, 10 and Wednesday, 11 February at 9am to noon at Blue Stockings, 16 Dan Pienaar Road, Kloof.

Elana is an experienced and versatile author, editor and workshop facilitator whose published works include biographical narratives, adult fiction, young adult fiction, short stories and children’s books.

In her 11 years as a publishing house editor she accompanied many authors – both novice and experienced – on the journey to published success.

She has taught creative writing workshops, coached creative writing at tertiary level, spoken about creative writing at numerous schools and twice been one of the featured writers at the Time of the Writer Festival in Durban.

Whether your interest is in compiling unpublished but well-written family memoirs for the next generations, an autobiographical account of your own story or a fun reminiscence to share with friends and family, this two-session workshop is designed to inspire you, inform you, kickstart you and keep you going.

The cost is R1 200, which includes a resource pack. Take a pen and notebook. To book contact Narene on 083 659 3628.

At Caxton, every story is written by humans. We use AI only to perform quality checks - never to generate the news. Happy reading!
