SIX people were left injured, one critically, after a three-car collision at the corner of Leopold and Russell Streets, just after 6am on Sunday morning.
According to Rescue Care operations director, Garrith Jamieson, paramedics arrived on scene to find that three vehicles had collided in the junction with one of the vehicles rolling multiple times.
“An assessment was done on the scene and it was established that a total of five people had sustained various injuries. One of the drivers had sustained critical injuries, and Rescue Care’s advanced life support paramedic placed him on a manual ventilator at the scene,” added Jamieson.
Once all the injured had been stabilised they were transported to various hospitals around Durban for further care.
Jamieson said at this stage it is unclear what caused the collision. However, SAPS was at the scene and will be investigating further.
