Alleged braai thief arrested

Security officers arrested thieves in Durban over the past week.

AN armed response officer arrested an alleged trespasser on a property in Glenmore after he allegedly attempted to steal a braai stand.

Blue Security operations manager Brian Jackson said the armed response officer had arrived at the property in Grundel Road at around 6.10am on Saturday morning.

“Our vigilant officer arrested the man who had allegedly tried to steal a braai stand from the property. He was handed over to the Umbilo police who attended the scene,” he said.

Jackson said an armed response officer had also responded to a store in Umbilo Road where staff had arrested an alleged shoplifter who had attempted to steal a chocolate. The Umbilo SAPS attended the scene.

He said an alleged shoplifter was also arrested in a store in West Street after she was caught stealing a towel. She was handed over to the Durban Central SAPS. “We commend the hard work of our officers, the community and the police who worked diligently together to bring these alleged criminals to book,” said Jackson.
