Embury hosts fun day

Children from the Kwangcolosi area were treated to a fun day by students from Embury Institute For Teacher Education.

IT was all fun and games for 250 children from the Umgeni Valley and Botha’s Hill area who participated in Embury's annual fun day recently.

The children, aged four to six years old, were placed in different houses that were centred around the superhero theme: Superman, Batman, Spiderman, IronMan and Hulk. Each child received a T-shirt which represented the colour of their house.

The children participated in various physical activities such as sack race, bowling, dress up games and obstacle courses and the teachers who accompanied the children also joined in the fun and participated in the activities.

Each house was awarded a prize and each child received a medal. The excited children, as well as teachers, were all treated to lunch and a few other sweet treats that were sponsored. The children received goodie bags from Momentum.

“Embury would like to thank the Umgeni Valley and Botha’s Hill area for allowing us to have fun with the children. We would also like to thank Highbury for the use of the grounds. A special thank you to Momentum for treating the children and helping during the event and thanks to all the sponsors who helped make the fun day a very successful one indeed,” said Justin Moodley, a third year student at Embury.
