Top junior chef takes the win
KZN's Top Junior Chef was announced at the East Coast Radio House and Garden Show.
JUNIOR chef, Pascall Roossendall, a Grade 6 pupil at Cawood Academy in Hillcrest, was announced as the KZN winner of the Hirsch's and Defy Junior Super Chef competition.
The final cook-off took place at the East Coast Radio House and Garden Show on Friday 4 June. Four contestants won the honour of taking part in the finals at The Kitchen Studio Celebrity Chef Kitchen, following a series of competitions that had taken place in June at Hirsch's branches in Ballito, Umhlanga, Springfield Park and Hillcrest.
Finalists were given a mystery basket to prepare their meal with. Pascall’s surf and turf dish was a sure win for the judges.
His winning meal comprised of fillet steak, prawns, crispy potatoes, caramelized onions and a blue cheese sauce.
