Driver entrapped as truck overturns
A truck overturned on the corner of Moore and Maydon Road this afternoon, entrapping the driver.
A truck driver was lucky to escape with only moderate injuries after the truck he was diving overturned on the corner of Moore Road and Maydon Road just after 1pm today.
Rescue Care Paramedics arrived to find the driver entrapped in the wreckage. The Durban Fire Department and SAPS Search and Rescue unit were called for assistance. Paramedics had to climb into the wreck to stabilise the patient whilst rescuers used the jaws of life and other hydraulic equipment to free the driver. Once freed the driver was transported to hospital.
It is not known what caused the driver to lose control of the truck. SAPS is investigating further.
