All things green at City’s exhibition
The public are invited to the City's Sustainable Living Exhibition, which promises to be a fun, educational and informative showcase of all things green and sustainable with water and energy saving gadgets and recycling alternatives.
ETHEKWINI municipality is gearing up to host a bumper Sustainable Living exhibition from 14 to 16 August with more than 250 exhibitors showcasing their greening products and services at the Durban Exhibition Centre.
The exhibition, Durban’s premier greening event, aims to highlight what ordinary people can do to contribute towards caring for the environment and creating a better life.
The free event promises to be a fun, educational and informative showcase of all things green and sustainable.
The Exhibition comes at a time when KZN is feeling the effects of climate change, with water restrictions implemented in various areas. There is also load shedding that impacts the public regularly. “The time has come for us to start making changes to our lifestyles and live more sustainably if we have not done so, and there is no better platform to learn how to do this than at the Sustainable Living Exhibition,” said City mayor, James Nxumalo. “Packed with water saving tanks, energy saving gadgets, recycling alternatives, food and water wise garden advice and ideas, the exhibition will make it easy for you to green your lifestyle.”
The BotSoc Plant Fair, also taking place at the exhibition, will have thousands of indigenous plants on sale just in time for spring so one can start sprucing up gardens. These water wise plants are sure to brighten up any corner in gardens. “Start making the change today and lets act in a unified way to achieve our vision of creating a caring and livable City,” concluded Nxumalo.
