Ride for CANSA

Take on this year's Amashova events and help raise funds for CANSA.

CYCLISTS and any persons keen on taking on the Amashova this year, are beingencouraged to ride in aid of CANSA.

According to Marlene Pretorius, who will be taking on the ride again this year, she was one of four riders who helped raise R10 000 for CANSA at last year's event.

“Two of the team rode the 106km, and it was a lot of fun. We are aiming for a tea of 30 cyclists this year to help raise funds,” said Marlene.

Riders can take on one of the three different categories, 35km, 65km or 106km, for those who are serious cyclists.

“We want to challenge the entrants to raise R5 000 each and that will include your fabulous CANSA Active Race gear, entry and goodie bag,” she said.

Marlene encourages people to raising funds in aid of a loved one lost, or struggling with the disease.

“I am riding for my mom, who is a breast cancer survivor, and for my two cousins who I lost to the disease. It's a fun event, and so many people are riding for a cause, why not for CANSA,” she said.

If people are interested in taking up the challenge, both physically and emotionally, raising funds for this worthy cause, they can contact Marlene at CANSA on 31 205 9525.
