Keevan is a martial arts champ

An Umbilo SAPS officer has exceled in a national martial arts championship.

UMBILO SAPS Constable Keevan Kristopher kept the Umbilo flag flying high when he took part in an inter-provincial SAPS National Martial Arts Championship in the Western Cape during September.

Constable Keevan Kristopher, formerly from Wentworth, achieved a gold medal for Kata and silver for Kumite. Keevan was mentored by his father from the age of five and joined an accredited KSA Club in 2015 and represented KwaZulu-Natal.

The South African Police Service encourages its members to have healthy bodies and minds and encourages the participation in any sports discipline to help them achieve this.

The members participating in the National Martial Arts Championship not only represented the province but also their respective stations.
