DURBAN Girls’ College recently handed over a donation of R10 000 to Umduduzi – Hospice Care for Children, which is a local non-profit organisation providing care and support to children with life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses.

Receiving the donation was co-founder and DGC old girl Dr Julia Ambler. The funds were raised at the 2015 DGC Day by the girls themselves.

Amy Schaap, 2015 Head of Community Engagement said: “Umduduzi does wonderful work for the children of our province and Julia is an inspiration to all College Girls.”

Julia said: “Working with such ill children can be very challenging, but seeing the energy and commitment of these young women is incredibly encouraging.”
