Give a kitten a new start

Cats of Durban is appealing to the community to adopt kittens.

CATS of Durban, a voluntary organisation that looks after the stray and feral cats in Durban, is appealing to the community to adopt kittens.

According to Niki Moore from Cats of Durban, every year welfare organisations are inundated with kittens that have been rescued or simply been dumped by uncaring people.

“Most of these adorable creatures, unfortunately, face the uncertain future that they might be put to sleep if they cannot be homed, as there are just too many of them,” she said.

Cats of Durban is an agency that looks after stray and feral cats, and focuses on sterilization in order to bring down the number of unwanted kittens. However, there are still hundreds of kittens needing homes, and Cats of Durban has a sister organisation, called Kitty-Care, that rescues, fosters and homes unwanted kittens.

“There is a waiting list of kittens looking for homes, so if anyone is keen to start the new year on a happy note for a kitten, please consider giving one of these little animals a home. You are saving them either from being put to sleep, or a life of possible abuse on the streets,” she said.
