BUILDING on the excellent response from the public last year, comes the 2027 cat calendar.
Compass Cares, through one of its beneficiaries, St Francis Carers of Abandoned and Abused Cats, has put together the calendar, which consists of 16 feral cat models. St Francis rescues, cares for, and feeds more than 100 cats daily throughout the year.

Kicking off the year 2027, as January model, Tiny Bean comes with an extraordinary story. The calendar tells his and co-models’ stories. “Bean’s story began with an extraordinary act of instinct. Her feral mother sought refuge in a Westville complex, trusting the kind residents who fed her and protected the kittens.

“Tiny, curious, and full of furry personality, Bean captured hearts with her bright, watchful eyes. Though feisty at first, she soon revealed her affectionate nature and is now safe in foster care, awaiting her new home.”

Thumbelina, the September model, is described as having “proved that no wall is too high, even the one of a maximum-security prison. After a harrowing fall down a narrow shaft, she refused to give up, fighting through the light.

“Dirty, weak, and starving, she was rescued by Feline Connection. This tiny kitten broke free from her literal prison, into the arms of love and safety. A survivor who embodies courage, resilience, and hope.”

“We have a different theme every year, and for 2027 the theme is ‘Break Through’,” said Sherryl Bradfield of St Francis.

Other beneficiaries of the Break Through Calendar include Feral Cats Rescue Trust, Kitty Care, Kingdom Cats Sanctuary, SAFE, Feline Collection, and Animal Rescue and Rehab Centre.
