BEREA SAPS urges people to be aware of theft from money market accounts.
Last week, two women were robbed of money when depositing funds in money market accounts.
Berea SAPS said the problem was getting out of hand. People are somehow getting information about the secret pin, either through a cashier giving a syndicate member the details, or from someone in the queue behind the clients.
In one incident, a woman deposited R800 into an account for another recipient, however an unknown person somehow got hold of her secret pin and withdrew the money.
In the second case in Overport, a woman deposited R300, which was withdrawn from the Windermere branch.
Berea SAPS urges people to be aware of this problem, and guard their secret pin when depositing money.
