Eden’s French connection

Eden College welcomes visiting teacher from France, Madame Giraud.

EDEN College Durban is hosting a visiting teacher from the Académie de Nantes, the educational district in the west of France.

Madame Lenka Giraud will be with the school for six months and is teaching with Madame Lüssi in the College.

This opportunity has been made possible through an educational exchange partnership, called KwaZuluLoire, that has existed for some years between the Association of French Teachers of KZN and The Académie de Nantes.

The partnership started off small, with an exchange of letters back in 2012. There are now 10 KZN schools and 10 schools from the Nantes region which participate in a dynamic and evolving relationship.

Durban is twinned with the beautiful city of Nantes on the Loire river, hence the name KwaZuluLoire. Other valued facilitators of the partnership are the Alliance Française de Durban and the City of Durban.
