Crime awareness day a success

BEREA police met members of the community in an attempt to forge stronger relationships in fighting crime at their annual Crime Awareness Day on Saturday.

The festivities began with a motorcade from Curries Fountain Stadium which made its way through the Berea SAPS precinct area to Berea Park. The procession featured the SAPS band, the One Battalion Pipe Band, the Durban Girls’ High School drummies and various mascots including the kiddies favourites from uShaka.

Other entertainment on the day included the SAPS Dance Band, as well as local celebrities who performed during the event, including Lendel Moonsamy of Idols and The Voice fame, Lello Green, DJ Tira, The SAPS Choir (Polmusca), DJ Vijen and many more.

Various government departments and security companies also gave interesting demonstrations at the grounds.
