Opportunity knocks for designers

Designers have the opportunity to participate in another leading fashion event in the city.

ETHEKWINI Municipality invites all designers within the eThekwini municipal area to be part of the Essence Young Designer competition.

Only selected designers will be required to present in front of the celebrity panel on Friday, 29 September at the Beauty and Style pavilion hosted at the ICC.

Once designers have met the criteria, they will be interviewed on their story board presentation before the top two winners are announced.

DFF Emerging Durban Designer winner, Muzi Innocent Mlambo.

The first prize will be R5 000 towards a sewing machine of their choice, admission to the 2018 Durban Fashion Fair Mentorship Programme, an exhibition space allocated at the 2018 DFF Fashion Pavilion and a whole clothes rail allocated at the DFF Emporium Pop Up Shop at uMlazi Mega City.

The runner-up will receive R3 000 towards a sewing machine of the choice as well as admission to the 2018 DFF Mentorship Programme and exhibition space.
