KZN unites against gun violence
Thousands across the province wore orange and added their voice to the cause.
KZN stood united in the fight against gun violence following Friday’s #StandUpForSadia campaign.
Thousands of people across the province wore orange and added their voice to the cause. The campaign was launched by East Coast Radio in support for victims of gun violence following the tragic death of 9-year-old Sadia Sukhraj in a botched hijacking last week.

Businesses, schools and communities across KZN all remembered victims of gun violence in various ways. East Coast Radio’s Programming Manager Zane Derbyshire said: “The response from the people of KZN has been incredible! Families, friends and colleagues across the province have heeded our call and are standing up and saying that we have had enough of gun violence. This campaign has been supported by other media outlets, businesses and schools and as East Coast Radio, we are thrilled to have played a part in amplifying how people in KZN feel.”
