Sailors’ Society hosts dedication service

At the service, Chaplains as well as members of the Society re-dedicate themselves to continue serving seafarers.

THE Sailors’ Society SA invites the public to its annual dedication service on 27 January at Glenwood Presbyterian Church, 339 Esther Roberts Road, at 9.30am, an event which has become a highlight on the Society’s calendar.

At the service, Chaplains as well as members of the Society re-dedicate themselves to continue serving seafarers and making their well-being the prime concern.
Sandra Welch, deputy CEO of the Sailors’ Society’s Head Office in the UK will lead the service. Sandra also heads up the Society’s programme team, and has previously worked with The Salvation Army for more than 18 years.

Opening with a flag procession and the singing of the South African National Anthem, the Glenwood Presbyterian Choir will participate by leading the congregation in song. Members of the SA Defence Force Band, who always add to the vibrant atmosphere of this service, will once again be present playing well- known hymns.
All are welcome and those attending are invited for refreshments after the service.
