Restaurant gutted by fire, three treated for smoke inhalation
Three people were treated on scene for smoke inhalation as a result of the fire which severely damaged the restaurant.
THREE people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation when a well-known restaurant became engulfed in flames in Windermere this afternoon (September 3).
The restaurant along Lilian Ngoyi Road and Livingstone Road was gutted by the blaze with emergency services called in to douse the fire. Smoke could be seen from as far as Berea as the eThekwini Fire Department worked on containing the fire.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said they arrived at the scene before 17:00 and “the building was well alight and the eThekwini Fire Department was already at the scene battling the blaze”.

“Paramedics assessed three people on the scene who had sustained minor smoke inhalation and refused further treatment and transportation.”
He added, “Events leading up to the fire were unknown and SAPS were in attendance and will be investigating the matter with the fire department.”
At 18:00 the eThekwini Fire Department was still on scene damping down the building.
