Armed robbers hit CBD business

The suspects chased the manager of the shop into the receiving area and held up the security guard and cashier at gunpoint.

A GANG of armed robbers held up staff at a business premises in the Durban CBD at the weekend.

Blue Security community and media liaison officer Andreas Mathios said four armed robbers entered the shop on Saturday morning and held up staff at gunpoint. The incident occurred at around 10am.

“The suspects chased the manager of the shop into the receiving area and held up the security guard and cashier. They forced her to open the tills and fled the scene with a large sum of cash. No injuries were reported,” Mathios said.

Durban Central SAPS attended the scene of the crime.
