Berea Mail has a vacancy for a multi-media journalist

Berea Mail is looking for a young, enthusiastic person to join our newsroom.

The Berea Mail is a local newspaper that strives to serve the diverse Berea community bringing readers the latest news and happenings in the area.

In addition to its print edition, Berea Mail has a burgeoning online presence with multiple daily updates to its website and social media platforms.

We are looking for a young, enthusiastic person to join our newsroom and share our passion for keeping our readers informed and entertained both in print and online.

 

Requirements:

– A valid degree or diploma in Journalism or Communication

-At least three year’s work experience in a newsroom

– Excellent English, written and spoken, language skills. Ability to speak other languages is an advantage.

– Confident photographer

– Sound knowledge of social media and able to create content including short videos and sound bites for the Berea Mail website, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and You Tube channel.

– Time management skills and able to meet daily deadlines

– Willingness to work some nights and every second weekend

– A valid driver’s license and must have your own vehicle.

– Knowledge of the area and contacts in the area is an added advantage.
