“The woman arrived and promised the victim work at Transnet. While they were waiting for transportation to get to an interview, the woman pretended to help the victim with her child, but turned and fled with the baby. The child was later found abandoned in Ulundi,” said Khomo.

Police believe the woman in an identikit they have can assist in solving the case.
Detective W/O Muthusamy can be contacted for information on 031 325 4121 or conact Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
“Police would like to sensitise the community to be aware of scams where people are promised jobs but end up being victims of kidnapping and sometimes rape,” said Khomo.
