Don’t miss Durban Book Fair
The aim of the fair is to promote local writers and give them a platform to market their work.
THE Durban Book Fair takes place on the first Sunday of every month at Mitchell Park in Durban, with the next fair on 4 August from 11am.
The aim is to promote local writers and give them a platform to market their work. At the next book fair, visitors can hear from authors Nicole Rimensberger (Witchfield) and Cristy Zinn (Dreamer’s Tears and Magic of Memory) in conversation with Sarita Mathur from 11am to 11.30am.
At 11.30am to noon, there will be the launch of Awkward Energy by Matt Vend, followed by the launch of Casbah to Candella – Those Days by Vino Govender from noon to 12.30pm.

At 12.30pm to 1pm, there will be a conversation with Deepak Panday, author of Kings of Durban, along with the launch of Insights and Impressions of a Baratnathyam Dancer by Surekha Singh from 1pm to 1.30pm, and the launch of Clobet Valley by Terisha Govender from 1.30pm to 2.30pm.
Go along to hear the authors speak, and browse the stalls. Pick up bargains at the Booksellers of Mzansi stall. This is a partnership with the Denis Hurley Centre, where homeless people have been trained to earn a dignified living through selling “pre-loved” books.
