THE Cleansing and Solid Waste Unit (DSW) is experiencing service interruptions due to an ongoing illegal strike action by Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) workers.
Mandla Nsele, eThekwini Municipality’s Acting Head of Communications, said refuse service collection and street sweeping in and around Durban have been affected.

“DSW is doing all it can to resolve the issues as speedily as possible for service to go back to normal. Residents are requested to keep all refuse within their properties,” he said, adding that the municipality apologised for the inconvenience caused.
