Work nearing completion on traffic circle

Construction on the traffic circle at the intersection of Florida and Lambert Roads should be finished by next week.

WORK on a traffic circle at the intersection of Florida and Lambert Roads is nearing completion, says Councillor Ernest Smith.

He said the aim of installing the traffic circle at this intersection was to alleviate the congestion experienced there and improve traffic flow, as well as to aid safety on the road, curbing speeding.

“I spoke to the contractor on site last week and was told they have face setbacks in construction due to the weather. All in all, the contractor has said they should be done by 19 or 20 December, however an exact date can’t be anticipated due to the rainy weather we are experiencing at the moment,’ he said.

Smith urged the public to be patient while construction is underway and to be cautious when driving in the vicinity.
