Investigations lead to recovery of goods stolen in Bulwer

Capt Pumzile Makaula from Umbilo SAPS said the investigation continues to search for the suspect, who is known to the police.

UMBILO SAPS officers recovered stolen goods following a housebreaking in Bulwer on Monday, 16 November.

According to Capt Pumzile Makaula from Umbilo SAPS, a case of housebreaking and theft in Brand Road was reported on Monday at the station. “Investigations by officers Det Const Sithembile Mqadi and Sgt Sibonelo Ngcobo led to the recovery of the stolen goods at a shop in Davenport,” she said.

Makaula said the investigation continues to search for the suspect, who is known to the police.

“As the festive season nears we urge the community to increase home security such as installing burglar bars, cameras, keeping doors locked throughout the day and windows closed at night,” said Makaula.

She said active involvement in neighbourhood watch committees was also important. “If your neighbourhood doesn’t already have one, you should consider forming one as this ensures further safety and security,” she said.
