Refrain from carrying large sums of cash, warns KZN SAPS

Residents have been urged to remain cautious and to consider safer options like depositing money into bank accounts.

AS the festive season draws near, the police are warning residents not to walk around with large sums of money on their person.

Captain Nqobile Gwala from provincial SAPS said with the year coming to an end, stockvel members will divide the hard-earned cash that they have been saving for the year.

“We would like to warn them to always be cautious and to consider safer options like depositing money into bank accounts. People are being robbed of their cash or even killed, a warning has been issued to prevent such incidents in future,” said Gwala.
