Police arrest suspects while curbing crime in Durban
The arrested men made their first appearance in the Durban Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
DURBAN Central police arrested two suspects in separate incidents on Wednesday, and the arrested men made their first appearance in Durban Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 25 February, for common robbery and business burglary.

Commenting on the incidents, Sgt Zanele Khomo from Durban Central said in the first incident, it is alleged that on Wednesday at around 7pm, a man was walking along Dr Yusuf Dadoo in the Durban CBD when he was attacked by three men who grabbed him and searched his pockets.
“Durban Central members who were patrolling in the vicinity witnessed the incident and swiftly arrested one of the men. The other two fled with the man’s cellphone. The arrested suspect will be charged for robbery,” she said.

In the second incident, in the early hours of Wednesday morning, Durban Central police were patrolling near a school in Livingstone Road in Morningside when they saw a suspect exiting the school carrying a plastic bag and a vacuum cleaner.
“The members stopped him and also found a DVD player and discs and a wall clock in his possession which was later confirmed to be stolen in a burglary at the school,” she said.
The suspect was arrested and appeared in court for business robbery.
