South Africa’s most talented youth choir performing in Durban

Mzansi Youth Choir earned the first audience golden buzzer ever on the America’s Got Talent stage.

FOR one night only, the Mzansi Youth Choir and Neon Dreams will perform at The Globe at Suncoast Casino Entertainment World.

Mzansi Youth Choir is now a household name in South Africa and the world at large – after the choir gave a breathtaking performance that earned them the first-ever audience golden buzzer moment on the America’s Got Talent stage.

They not only progressed to the semi-finals but also performed in the finals on September 26. Although they didn’t win, they were invited to perform a traditional song and the Coldplay signature song, Fix You, with Coldplay at two sold-out concerts in San Diego and Los Angeles. The choir is now embarking on a national tour, including a stop in Durban, South Africa, on November 18, where they will make their debut live show appearance.

The choir started in 2003 with the aim of giving talented, underprivileged teenagers and young adults between the ages of 14 and 24 years the opportunity to proficiently perform locally and abroad, as well as to package, repackage and create new African music. The 50-strong choir from Soweto celebrates 20 years of existence and is proud to have had over 600 young people pass through their hands. Many have gone on to become professionals in their own right. The choir’s motto is to bring love, hope and happiness.
