Denis Hurley Centre trumpets bass, drum for good cause
Many Denis Hurley Centre supporters remember fondly the Jazzy afternoon held in 2020 to honour Monsignor Paul Nadal. The centre is delighted to repeat the event at the Durban Jewish Club and with the same wonderful musicians.

THE Denis Hurley Centre is delighted to present an afternoon of fabulous jazz at the Durban Jewish Club on Sunday, March 2 at 15:00, in the glorious company of Melvin Peters with Debbie and George Mari and friends.
The band comprises Melvin Peters on piano, George Mari on trumpet, Debbie Mari on vocals, Thuto Motsemme on bass, LeeRoy Khumalo on drums and Johan van Molen on saxophone. There will be special guests too – school choirs from Our Lady of Fatima and St Henry’s Marist College.
“We are repeating the hugely successful jazzy afternoon that was held in 2020 in honour of the now late Monsignor Paul Nadal. The venue is the same – the Durban Jewish Club in North Beach with lots of safe parking and air cons! And we are delighted to welcome back Durban’s finest jazz musicians, Melvin Peters, and George and Debbie Mari. Many thanks to all concerned for generously donating their services,” says DHC director Dr Raymond Perrier.

“Everyone concerned is giving freely of their time and talents as a fundraiser for the incredible work of the Denis Hurley Centre – an inner-city interfaith facility which supports the homeless, marginalised and refugee communities,” added Perrier.
Seating is predominantly picnic-style around tables, and some cinema-style individual seats too. Tickets are on sale through Quicket.
