Awards shine spotlight on Dolphins’ cricket excellence

From historic victories in the CSA Women’s One Day Cup to record-breaking feats by individual cricketers, the Hollywoodbets Dolphins Star Awards recently recognised the team’s standout players with the likes of Nicole de Klerk walking away with multiple awards. The event was a glittering affair, highlighting notable achievements and milestones in the sport.

THE Hollywoodbets Dolphins Star Awards, held on Tuesday, March 18, at the Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium, celebrated outstanding individual and team performances in cricket for Durban’s premier team that had remarkable performances from September 2023 to December 2024.

The Hollywoodbets Dolphins Ladies etched their name in history during the 2023/24 season by securing their first-ever trophy – the inaugural CSA Women’s One Day Cup. Key players, Nicole de Klerk and Alexandra Candler, were instrumental in this historic triumph, showcasing exceptional skill and determination throughout the season.

For her efforts at the crease De Klerk walked away with three individual awards. Her highlights included an unbeaten 72 off 41 balls in the Pro20 clash against the Titans and a remarkable 96 off 81 balls in the Pro50 match against the Lions. On the men’s side, Prenelan Subrayen stood out as a standout performer, securing two awards, including one for his remarkable 10-wicket haul against Western Province in the CSA 4-Day Cup. He was the joint-top wicket-taker in the competition, with 25 scalps to his name, averaging 19.20.
