Boot camp to get Glenwood moving
Health and fitness go hand-in-hand for the Glenwood Fitness Club which is calling on the community to join them on Saturday, May 3, at the Esther Roberts Tennis Court from 07:00 to 09:00, for boot camp training session.
THE Glenwood Fitness Club are gearing up to host a massive outdoor aerobics and boot camp at the Esther Roberts Tennis Court on Saturday, May 3, from 07:00 to 09:00.
“The aim is to encourage people to get fit and start embracing a healthy lifestyle,” said coach Phindile Shangase. “The purpose of the event is to promote health and wellness within our community.” The session is open to anyone looking to improve their fitness or begin their journey of healthy living.
“Joining the gym or exercing will boost your mood, self-confidence, energy levels and reduce stress and anxiety. It can help you lose weight and maintain a healthy body composition,” said Shangase who runs the morning sessions of the Glenwood Fitness Club.

She said being active can reduce the risk of chronic illness, heart disease and stroke. “It can also strengthen your muscles and bones, improve mental health and enhance social connection while promoting discipline and motivation,” added Shangase.
On the day there will be a line-up of coaches and instructors who will guide participants through muscle building exercises, cardio, boxercise and other activities. If you are unable to join the boot camp, the Glenwood Fitness Club meets Monday to Friday from 06:30 to 07:30 and from 17:30 to 18:30 at Bulwer Park.
