Glenwood boot camp roars with success

Plans are aleady underway to host the next boot camp following the success of the recent event hosted by the Glenwood Fitness Club at the Stella Indoor Soccer field.

PARTICIPANTS came from as far as KwaMashu and Umlazi to be part of Glenwood Fitness Club’s aerobics boot camp at the Stella Soccer Indoor sports grounds recently.

Coach Phindile Shangase, who was among those leading the group, said the venue was changed from the Esther Roberts Tennis Court to Stella in order to accommodate the number of people that were attending the event. She said the number of people that signed up for the boot camp was a good indication of how the event was going to go.

“The event was a resounding success and we are very proud of everyone who attended. They gave it their all. The event was buzzing with energy, laughter and plenty of sweating, making it an unforgettable day,” said Shangase.

The highly energised boot camp saw the young and the old testing their fitness levels for over two hours. They were put through their paces by instructors who guided the participants through muscle building exercises, cardio, boxercise and other activities.

Shangase said that beyond fitness, the event was an ideal way to foster good relations within the community. “Hosting such an event allowed Glenwood Fitness Club to foster healthy living and build momentum for regular exercise within the community. More than that, it created a space for fitness enthusiasts to connect, forge lasting friendships, and strengthen community bonds, enriching both the club and its members. The event was a celebration of fitness, fun and community spirit,” said Shangase.
